I’m a passionate and seasoned autism and disability advocate, consultant, researcher, and author with a career dedicated to supporting and educating about autism in adulthood. Based in Maine, I focus on living an active, positive life, and I bring that same energy to all my work. My journey has led me to create tools and resources that empower others to embrace their authentic selves and live fulfilling lives. As an openly Autistic adult, I’ve poured my experiences into my writing and teaching. My book, Always Bring Your Sunglasses: And Other Stories from a Life of Sensory and Social Invalidation, offers a candid look at the challenges and triumphs of navigating the world as an Autistic person. Alongside my book, I’ve designed a course called Self Defined Living: A Path to a Quality Autistic Life, which is all about helping others find their own path to a fulfilling, self-empowered life.
My work also extends into research, where I’m deeply involved in Autistic Quality of Life (AQoL) studies, striving to uncover insights that can make a meaningful impact on the lives of Autistic individuals. I believe in the power of shared knowledge and the importance of hearing and valuing Autistic voices in research.
In addition to my writing and research, I’m committed to fostering inclusive work environments. Through my consulting practice, I collaborate with organizations to help them build cultures that embrace neurodiversity and prioritize belonging.
Beyond my professional work, I’m recognized as one of LinkedIn’s Top Voices, where I use my platform to raise awareness about Neurodiversity and Disability advocacy. I’m also an avid animal lover, with a special affinity for cats. When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me enjoying time with my husband, Antonio, our many animals, and our Emotional Support Animal (ESA), Sir Walter Underfoot.
